Rampage Jackson: I can't retire on UFC salary because Dana White lied about my earnings

New, comments

And here you thought they just lied about pay-per-view (PPV) buys! Sour grapes? Or fearless whistle blower?

"If I had just quit fighting for the UFC and retired, I wouldn't be able to retire for the rest of my life. I don't think so just because of how many kids I've got and what I plan on doing. Especially not off my MMA money; not after you pay your taxes, coaches, manager their percentage, you don't walk away with the number that they (UFC) say that they pay you. The UFC put out a big number that I made over the years, and honestly I don't believe that it's true. They lie about a lot of stuff. It is just propaganda."

Remember when Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White said Quinton Jackson made $15.2 million in five years with ZUFFA? Turns out he was lying, which according to "Rampage," is part and parcel of the UFC propaganda machine. In fact, the Memphis native was unable to retire on his "cheap" UFC salary and had to go and hook up with Bellator MMA, where he's scheduled to fight someone, somewhere (eventually). The good news is Jackson, 36, has plenty of extracurricular activities to keep him busy -- and well paid -- so don't expect to see him at your local soup kitchen anytime soon.
