Minotauro Nogueira: Frank Mir needs a UFC win and I need to stop 'choking'

Steve Snowden

Who's ready for part three?

Sounds like Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, who is still "choking" about his loss to Frank Mir back in late 2011. That's when "Minotauro" had his arm crushed like a bag of potato chips, despite handling the former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) coach in the stand up.

Nog talks to Globo (via Bloody Elbow):

"I'm 'choking' about his last win. I want to fight against him again, for sure, face him and impose my pace. I want this bout for 2015, this is my plan. What would he have to gain is a win in his career. He needs it. He won't be fighting against a 'nobody.' It would be interesting for me and for him. I won't give him a easy fight. If he wants to test his skills, I'll give him a tough task."

Mir -- loser of four straight -- isn't the only one who needs a win.

Nogueira (34-9-1, 1 NC) was starched by Roy Nelson earlier this year in Abu Dhabi (video), evening his UFC record at 5-5. One of those losses includes a technical knockout defeat to Mir (16-9) back in 2008, and the aging Brazilian has already endured a lifetime worth of punishment dating back to his PRIDE days.

Anyone besides Big Nog interested in a third dance?
