Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight prospect Derek Brunson fractured his jaw last night (Weds., Jan. 15, 2014) on the main card of UFC Fight Night 35 (details), which took place inside The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia.
But he has 50,000 reasons to feel better about himself.
That's because his technical knockout loss to Yoel Romero was good enough to earn him -- as well as "The Soldier of God" -- the coveted "Fight of the Night" bonus (see all the post-fight payouts here). Prior to the finish, Brunson was likely ahead on the judges scorecards (see our live play-by-play here) but couldn't make it across the finish line.
Better luck next time.
