UFC Fight Night 35: "Rockhold vs. Philippou" aired live on FOX Sports 1 from the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia, and featured Cole Miller and Derek Brunson in bouts that may put their current mixed martial arts (MMA) careers on hold.
Miller made a huge statement in the second round when he blasted Sam Sicilia with a hard combination that resulted in a knockdown and not long after, a rear-naked choke submission victory.
Good enough for "Submission of the Night."
At some point throughout the first two frames, "Magrinho" suffered another broken hand (left one this time) and will possibly need surgery. When Miller is healthy, however, he will return riding a two-fight win streak. The same can not be said for the 30-year-old product of Greg Jackson's MMA.
Despite winning "Fight of the Night."
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White confirmed the injury Brunson suffered following UFC Fight Night 35's post-fight press conference.
Just went to the hospital to see @DerekBrunsonMMA he has a fractured jaw. He is waiting to have surgery.

Brunson was putting on the strongest performance of his brief career before being finished by Yoel Romero in the third frame. The stoppage was late and after the amount of elbows "Soldier of God" dropped on Brunson's side, a fractured jaw is the last thing one may expect to have been broken.
Aside from maybe a broken psyche.
