UFC Fight Night 35 results: Brad Tavares wins decision over Lorenz Larkin

The co-main event of tonight's (Wed., Jan. 15, 2014) UFC Fight Night 35: "Rockhold vs. Philippou" broadcast on Fox Sports 1 from the Arena at Gwinnet Center in Duluth, Georgia, featured two intriguing middleweights squaring off as Lorenz Larking battled Brad Tavares.

The first round was a striking battle that failed to see either fighter gain the edge, though Larkin seemed far too passive considering the situation he was in.

Finally, Tavares earned a takedown towards the end of the second and quickly took Larkin's back. Not only that, he had both hooks in almost immediately. And while he failed to secure the submission, he went into the third clearly ahead on the scorecards.

That's why Larkin was pushing so hard in the final frame but it proved to be a case of too little too late.

Final scores: 29-28 across the board, all in favor of Tavares.
