Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is bringing back The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 sentimental favorite Davey Grant, who gets another shot at superstardom opposite Roland Delorme on the upcoming UFC Fight Night 37 fight card, which is set to go down inside the O2 Arena in London, England, on March 8, 2014, via the promotion's new "Fight Pass" network.
UFC officials announced the 135-pound match-up earlier today.
Grant (8-2) was able to find himself in the live finale of the combat sports reality show thanks to a weight-cutting forfeit from Anthony Gutierrez. "Dangerous" fought valiantly against the heavily-favored Chris Holdsworth, but was eventually choked out in the second round of their FOX Sports 1 affair.
Time to put that one in the rear-view mirror.
Waiting to greet him across the pond is fellow TUF guy Roland Delorme (9-2). The Canadian had a "Stunning" start to his ZUFFA career; however, a split-decision loss to Alex Caceres tripped him up at UFC 165 last September. It was his first defeat inside the Octagon.
Will it be his last?
UFC Fight Night 37 will feature a 205-pound showdown with serious title implications on the line as top light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson risks his spot in the pecking order against ruthless local striker Jimi Manuwa. In addition, the overseas event includes a lightweight rematch pitting Ross Pearson opposite Melvin Guillard.
