Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davis on tap for Fight for the Troops 3

Liz Carmouche will face Alexis Davis at UFC Fight for the Troops 3 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky on November 6, 2013.

USA TODAY Sports

Liz Carmouche almost played spoiler when she faced Ronda Rousey at UFC 157 earlier this year in Anaheim, California for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight title. She locked in a tight rear naked choke and showed that Rousey may have difficulty when opposite a competent pressure grappler.

Unfortunately, Rousey was able to escape and locked up an armbar, securing the submission victory.

Carmouche was able to rebound, finishing Jessica Andrade at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs Moraga, but still finds herself several fights away from another shot at the title as Rousey is expected to fight Miesha Tate at UFC 168 and Cat Zingano is in line for another shot once she returns from injury.

So instead, the former Marine will face Alexis Davis at Fight for the Troops 3 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky on November 6, 2013. Fight for the Troops is the UFC's way to honor the men and women who serve in the United States military with many of the proceeds going towards military charities.

Carmouche is currently 1-1 in the UFC and 9-3 overall in her career. Davis is 1-0 in the Octagon and 14-5 in her career. Fight for the Troops 3 is headlined by Tim Kennedy welcoming Lyoto Machida to the UFC's middleweight division.

Take a look at the whole card:

Lyoto Machida vs. Tim Kennedy
Jorge Masvidal vs. Rustam Khabilov
Neil Magny vs. Seth Baczynski
Ronny Markes vs. Yoel Romero
Chris Camozzi vs. Lorenz Larkin
George Roop vs. Francisco Rivera
Colton Smith vs. Michael Chiesa
Dennis Bermudez vs. Nik Lentz
Liz Carmouche vs. Alexis Davis
Bobby Green vs. James Krause
