Video: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Bryan Vera full fight video highlights online

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. took a controversial unanimous decision last night (Sat., Sept. 28, 2013), overcoming a very game Bryan Vera at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Oh the benefits of having a famous last name ...

Bryan Vera took Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. into deep water last night (Sept. 28, 2013) at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., on HBO Boxing. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to win over the judges, who awarded Chavez a unanimous decision, despite viewers seeing Vera run away with the fight in the later rounds.

The bout was already filled with controversy as Chavez continually changed the contracted weight limit in the lead up. Originally scheduled for 160 pounds, the Chavez camp renegotiated the weight limit before finally settling on 173 pounds this past Wednesday (Sept. 25, 2013).

Vera was brought in to be a warm body for Chavez, who was returning from a nine month suspension after he tested positive for cannabis following his loss to Sergio Martinez at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Vera apparently didn't get the memo as he took the fight to Chavez for 10 rounds.

The score cards made even less sense as one judge gave Vera just two rounds. In the end, the judges scored the fight 98-92, 97-93, and 96-94 for Chavez.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. took home the decision and boxing has another judging controversy.
