Last night (Sept. 21, 2013), at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to pay-per-view with UFC 165. The card was headlined by an absolute classic between UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.
The atmosphere was absolutely electric as Jones and Gustafsson stood toe to toe and traded punches that saw both men hurt at various points in the evening. It was an extremely close fight, with the judges giving Jon Jones the nod with a Unanimous Decision victory.
It was the kind of fight that begs for an immediate rematch and a best of seven series. These men compliment each other and both elevated their statuses within the mixed martial arts (MMA) world because of last night's fight.
MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani and Chuck Mindenhall were live and broke down the fight and discussed the possibility of a rematch following the UFC 165 post-fight press conference.
