Both Brendan Schaub and Matt Mitrione had lost two of their past three fights before entering the Octagon tonight (Sat., Sept. 21, 2013) at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to duke it out on the main card of the UFC 165: "Jones vs. Gustafsson" pay-per-view (PPV) in a heavyweight showcase.
That doesn't mean this wasn't going to be fun.
Indeed, the two spent the first couple minutes feeling each other out before "The Hybrid" decided he was going to get a little wild and rush in to make something happen with his fists. He did, too, scoring a few solid shots before dropping down for a double leg takedown.
From there, he locked in a super tight choke and while Mitrione tried his best to fend off the submission, eventually he was put to sleep.
And that was that for "Meathead".
