The most dangerous woman on the planet is still Cristiane 'Cyborg' Santos.
Tonight (Sept. 20, 2013) at Lion Fight 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada, 'Cyborg' made her muay thai debut against Jennifer Colomb at the Fremont Street Experience. Colomb entered the bout 10-0 and brimming with confidence, despite only taking the fight on a week's notice.
In hindsight, Colomb probably regrets taking that call from Lion Fight CEO Scott Kent as 'Cyborg' pressed forward immediately and put an absolute beating on the Frenchwoman. It looked like the referee would call the fight in the second round when 'Cyborg' blitzed Colomb in the final seconds, but Colomb was able to survive.
The beating continued all the way through the third round when 'Cyborg' was able to end the fight with punches to the body. It was absolutely brutal, with Colomb doubling over in pain. She'd later shed tears in her corner, facing defeat for the first time in her career.
It was the kind of dominant performance that made her an absolute destroyer in Strikeforce's featherweight division. It harkened back to the night when she changed the face of women's Mixed Martial Arts when she crushed Gina Carano at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg.
In her post-fight interview, she said she plans on fighting at Invicta's November event but hopes to continue to take Muay Thai bouts. If this is the future of women's Muay Thai, the world was just put on notice.
