Shake up!
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 runner up, Dennis Bermudez, will fight Steven Siler next (not Nik Lentz) at UFC Fight Night 31: "Fight for the Troops 3," which will take place at Fort Campbell in Kentucky on Nov. 6, 2013.
"UFC Tonight" announced the Featherweight bout shortly after it was revealed that Lentz would challenge Chad Mendes at UFC on Fox 9 (more details here), with the winner inching one step closer to a potential 145-pound title shot against division champion Jose Aldo in the future.
Bermudez (11-3) has won four straight in the division, with victories over Max Holloway and a "Fight of the Year" candidate against Matt Grice, rounding out the most impressive performances of "The Menace" to date inside the Octagon.
Siler (23-10), meanwhile, has quietly built up an impressive resume of his own, winning five of six Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) appearances to date. His two consecutive wins over Kurt Holobaugh and Mike Brown are a far cry from his TUF 14 exit, which was punctuated by a Diego Brandao flying knee knockout just 30 seconds into their semifinal match.
UFC Fight Night 31: "Fight for the Troops 3" will feature a Middleweight main event between Army Ranger Tim Kennedy against Brazilian interloper Lyoto Machida. Elsewhere on the card, female mixed martial arts (MMA) standouts Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davis will collide in a 135-pound cat fight, while Lightweight up-and-comers Jorge Masvidal and Rustam Khabilov hook 'em up in a meaningful 155-pound scrap.
That's not all.
