Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added a couple of interesting match-ups in both the middleweight and bantamweight divisions for the upcoming UFC 167: "St. Pierre vs. Hendricks" pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for November 16, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
First up is a 185-pound scrap that features longtime mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 3 runner-up Ed Herman (21-9), who is fresh off a split-decision win over Trevor Smith at UFC on FOX 8 last July. "Short Fuse" is 4-1 (1 NC) after returning from knee surgery back in 2011.
Waiting to greet him in "Sin City" is Rafael Natal (17-4), coming off his "Fight of the Night" performance against Tor Troeng earlier this month in Brazil. It was the third straight win for "Sapo," who is 5-1 since his majority draw against Jesse Bongfeldt nearly three years ago.
Also finding a spot on the promotion's 20th anniversary super-show is 135-pound up-and-comer Erik Perez (13-5). "El Goyito" saw his eight-fight winning streak come to an end following his split decision loss to Takeya Mizugaki last month in Indianapolis.
Joining him in a quest to get back into the win column is Edwin Figueroa (9-3); however, there may be a bit more urgency for "El Feroz." The hard-hitting Texan has dropped two in a row and now stands at just 2-3 inside the Octagon. This could be the fight that makes or breaks his UFC career.
UFC 167 will be headlined by a welterweight title fight pitting reigning 170-pound champion Georges St. Pierre opposite division number one contender Johny Hendricks. In the co-main event, Rashad Evans will attempt to "let the dog out" against Chael Sonnen.
