Floyd Mayweather Jr. remained perfect (45-0) last night (Sat., Sept. 14, 2013) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, topping Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in the main event of a 152-pound championship catchweight fight on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV).
It was another brilliant performance for "Money," but it wasn't without it's share of controversy (more on that mess here and here).
"Canelo," previously undefeated, was considered a very dangerous opponent who had the skills, youth and determination to unseat the pound-for-pound boxing king. However, the Mexican started slow and was unable to overcome the master in-game adjustments of Mayweather, who coasted to a majority decision victory.

In the co-main event, Danny Garcia retained his 140-pound unified boxing titles, as well as his perfect professional record, with an impressive unanimous decision win over Lucas Matthysse. "Swift" -- who was able to skillfully avoid the power punches of the heavy-handed Argentinian -- boxed his way to an upset, establishing himself as the lone top dog at Light Welterweight.
And perhaps the next "Money" challenger.
