Tonight (Sat., Sept. 14, 2013), Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez meet at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a blockbuster Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) event simply known as "The One."
It's possibly the biggest boxing match to happen ever, with more than 12,000 fans attending yesterday's (Sept. 13, 2013) weigh ins.
The fight will also also pay out the single biggest purse in combat sports history with Mayweather set to take home $41.5 million in guaranteed pay. But, that's small potatoes as the CEO of Mayweather Promotions believes that when all is said and done, "Money" could take more than $100 million to the bank.

Here we go!
Round 1:
This crowd is absolutely insane.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Mayweather's jab and parrying are utterly immaculate.
— Luke Thomas (@SBNLukeThomas) September 15, 2013
1-0 Mayweather. Controlled it. Canelo didn’t change his usual approach.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Round 2:
Canelo is going to have to do better than that closing the distance or he's in big trouble #TheOne
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
I like where Alvarez puts his left hand in clinches to negate the Mayweather forearm. #TheOne
— Gabriel Montoya™ (@Gabriel_Montoya) September 15, 2013
Floyd working smart, popping jab and occasional hook. Canelo can not cut the distance so far
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
I think Mayweather brought in Bieber just to offset the power of the #GingerBangs
— Conor Heun (@ConorHeun) September 15, 2013
Guillotine! Oh, wait.
— Erik Fontanez (@Erik_Fontanez) September 15, 2013
10-9 Canelo on the body work. 19-19 even for me
— Brent Brookhouse (@brentbrookhouse) September 15, 2013
Round 3:
Lil Wayne still sitting around with no shirt on what the fuck is wrong with this dude? #Boxing
— Marcelino Evil (@KCBanditMMA) September 15, 2013
Canelo can't stop the jab from getting through. That Floyd jab is landing
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
Mayweather up 2-0. Canelo landed a decent shot but otherwise, doesn't feel like he can keep up with Floyd's speed early.
— Ryan Loco (@RyanLoco) September 15, 2013
Mayweather’s jab is as sharp as ever. He looks real fresh with the short layoff.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Canelo will need to be way more active to win this. Has to commit to taking a punch if necessary.
— Jonathan Snowden (@mmaencyclopedia) September 15, 2013
I really don't see a likely path to victory for Canelo if he continues to fight this bout in open space.
— Luke Thomas (@SBNLukeThomas) September 15, 2013
Round 4:
People that say Floyd runs clearly haven't watched him fight in the last 5 years
— Scott Hale (@Halestormsports) September 15, 2013
Canelo is doing some really good things. Floyd doing plenty good himself. this is a fight
— Brent Brookhouse (@brentbrookhouse) September 15, 2013
Floyd’s defense is amazing. #Boxing
— Marcelino Evil (@KCBanditMMA) September 15, 2013
This is good stuff. Getting more offense-heavy. Alvarez targeting the body nicely, lands a right upstairs. Guys, this ain’t a blowout.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Canelo goes low. Victor Ortiz type frustration to me.
— Ryan Loco (@RyanLoco) September 15, 2013
More of that please.
— Josh Gross (@JoshGrossESPN) September 15, 2013
Round 5:
Mayweather is landing counter shots that just shoot in like lasers. Lots of good jabs. Canelo getting some good body shots, moving forward.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
The Oscar won't be going to Floyd. #TheOne
— Gabriel Montoya™ (@Gabriel_Montoya) September 15, 2013
Floyd is unflappable. He can’t be flapped. Canelo is landing shots that a lot of guys don’t, but Floyd is still a master. I’m loving this.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
I've got Hardwork 50-45 over Dedication through 5.
— Mike Fagan (@ItsMikeFagan) September 15, 2013
Round 6:
Best scam Floyd ever pulled was making everyone believe that this was gonna be close.
— malki kawa (@malkikawa) September 15, 2013
Mayweather is just better. At everything. Like all aspects of fighting.
— Matt Brown (@MattBrownM2) September 15, 2013
Warning for Canelo
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
Floyd's pitching a shutout.
— Luke Thomas (@SBNLukeThomas) September 15, 2013
Look at that defense and head movement from Floyd. Goddamn.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Round 7:
Mayweather is ridiculously good.
— Jeremy Botter (@jeremybotter) September 15, 2013
Mayweather can fight flat-footed. Canelo cannot.
— Luke Thomas (@SBNLukeThomas) September 15, 2013
Canelo now way too hesitant. It was strategy earlier, maybe. It is now just going to lose him every round.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Mayweather is so good it's hard to think of a competitive fight for him. And no, Pacquiao never would've beaten him.
— Michael David Smith (@MichaelDavSmith) September 15, 2013
Mayweather is swinging his dong all over the ring at this point. There’s no other way to put it. I mean, there probably is.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Round 8:
Jab jab jab jab by Floyd. No defense from Canelo
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
The older Floyd gets, the more I enjoy watching him. Every fight I enjoy it more. Tonight is a masterpiece.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
This is about the time when people start saying Canelo is overrated. It should be when they marvel at mastery. 70-63 Mayweather. #TheOne
— Case Keefer (@casekeefer) September 15, 2013
When’s the last time you saw Floyd rattled? Even when Mosley shook him to his core, he wasn’t rattled. It’s incredible.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Getting to watch Floyd Mayweather fight is such a treat. #TheOne
— Matthew Roth (@MattRoth512) September 15, 2013
Round 9:
Crowd now chanting TMT! TMT!
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
Floyd’s beautiful in the ring. He’s smoking a younger, bigger, stronger man. Smoking him. This ain’t Trout.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Floyd 89-82. Outclassing another #TheOne
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Floyd up 8-1 at worst. Landed a big right that made P Diddy jump out of his chair.
— Ryan Loco (@RyanLoco) September 15, 2013
Round 10:
I can't wait to hear Canelo supporters try to reframe Mayweather's mastery and legit pocket presence as running. That should be fun.
— Luke Thomas (@SBNLukeThomas) September 15, 2013
The build up for boxing is better than the fight it's self!! Love my job @ufc
— Anthony Pettis (@Showtimepettis) September 15, 2013
Canelo gets split second chances. He’s about four split seconds behind on capitalizing on those chances.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
Canelo tried to unload after a right hand got in. Floyd absorbed it all on the arms & gloves, then made Canelo miss by a mile.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
I remember then saying in the last fight that Floyd always landed around 50% #Boxing
— Marcelino Evil (@KCBanditMMA) September 15, 2013
Round 11:
All fighters and all records are not created equal. Floyd's 44-0 very different than Canelo's 42-0
— Larry Pepe (@LarryPepe) September 15, 2013
This has to rank up there with the best performances I've covered, in any sport. Mayweather making this a rout. #TheOne
— Case Keefer (@casekeefer) September 15, 2013
Uh, I might have got the round right. Floyd’s beating the crap out of him.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
For all the concern about Floyd's hands, he seems perfectly fine. He's crunching Canelo
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
Has anyone made any red-headed step child jokes yet? #TheOne
— Gabriel Montoya™ (@Gabriel_Montoya) September 15, 2013
Floyd looks at someone at ringside as Canelo is chasing him!
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
Round 12:
Poppa Mayweather isn't even bothering giving corner advice. Just talking to people in the crowd. #TheOne
— Matthew Roth (@MattRoth512) September 15, 2013
That much defense heavy block style yet fun.But too early to emulate that in MMA.Even at boxer that is rare.
— Go Yamamoto (@shiroobi) September 15, 2013
Too fast. #Floyd
— Dave Sholler (@Sholler_UFC) September 15, 2013
Here's the truth, folks: Floyd Mayweather es lo mejor. #TheOne
— Luke Thomas (@SBNLukeThomas) September 15, 2013
Money looks like he could go another 12 ..
— Megan Olivi (@MeganOlivi) September 15, 2013
$$$ Mayweather 11-1. $3.8 million per round won on my scorecard.
— Daniel Rubenstein (@dannyrube) September 15, 2013
*sigh* Mayweather is All Madden while Canelo is Pro. That is all
— Andreas Hale (@AndreasHale) September 15, 2013
This fight went exactly how I thought it would. Showtime did a great job of making it seem like a real fight. It never was.
— Matt Brown (@MattBrownM2) September 15, 2013
MAJORITY DECISION
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
CJ Ross 114-114. Fired. Now.
— Scott (@scottchristBLH) September 15, 2013
That scorecard of CJ Ross is a complete, utter and total joke. Completely wrong. Wow
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 15, 2013
