Next Saturday (Sept. 21, 2013) at UFC 165, Alexander Gustafsson will enter the Octagon to face Jon Jones for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight title at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada.
It's been a long road for the Swede, as he's had to reel off six straight wins after losing his second fight in the UFC via submission when he faced Phil Davis at UFC 112. Since the loss, he's dominated all opposition, including a win over former 205-pound kingping champ, Mauricio Rua, at UFC on Fox 5: "Henderson vs Diaz" in Dec. 2012.
There is a lot at stake for Gustafsson when he faces Jones. A win will make him the first European to hold UFC gold. It would also cement him as the very best fighter in a very competitive division.
For the next few days, Kimura.se will be releasing footage from Gustafsson's camp as he makes final preparations for Jones. Above is the first of five, with the focus being more behind the scenes than normal video blogs.
