With less than 24 hours before a shot at winning ONE FC's inaugural Flyweight title, Andrew Leone will have to wait.
Leone (6-2) was ready to square off against Shinichi Kojima (13-5-5) at ONE FC 10 for the promotion's 125-pound title on Friday morning (Sept. 13, 2013); however, a last-minute knee injury has forced him from the card.
James Goyder breaks the bad news:
Andrew Leone hurt his knee, looks like Vuyisile Colossa vs Kotetsu Boku will be ONE FC main event now.
— James Goyder (@JamesGoyder) September 11, 2013
Goyder went on to explain that Leone is already on a plane headed back to the United States to determine the extent of the knee injury, which appears to be a torn ACL.
No replacement for the main event will be sought, with the Lightweight bout between Kotetsu Boku vs. Vuyisile Colossa now serving as the main event of the evening from Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia.
It's just the latest setback for the promotion's 125-pound title. Leone had taken the place of former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight Yasuhiro Urushitani (20-6-6) in the main event. And now the American is out, too.
