UFC Fight Night 26 medical suspensions and injuries: Travis Browne and Michael Johnson benched indefinitely

Now that the dust has settled and the smoke has cleared, it's time to find out who's worse for the wear following the carnage at UFC Fight Night 26: "Shogun vs. Sonnen" last month in "Beantown."

Paul Abell-US PRESSWIRE

The complete list of UFC Fight Night 26 fighter injuries and medical suspensions for those who competed at the "Shogun vs. Sonnen" FOX Sports 1 event last month from the TD Garden in Boston, Mass., were released on Tuesday by the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission.

No surprises here.

Heavyweight co-main event participant Travis Browne is riding the pine until he can get his shin checked out by a physician. "Hapa" likely tweaked his leg by using it to kick Alistair Overeem in the face. As a result, "Demolition Man" will also be taking some time off.

That's not all.

Lightweight "Menace," Michael Johnson, drew an indefinite suspension for beating the brakes off Joe Lauzon. The former Ultimate Fighter needs to get his eyeballs checked before the commission will greenlight his return. "J-Lau" drew 45 days for precautionary reasons.

Here is the complete list of UFC Fight Night 26 injuries and medical suspensions (via MMA Weekly):

Travis Browne: Suspended indefinitely or until cleared for by an orthodpedist and opthamologist
Alistair Overeem: Suspended 60 days (45 days no contact) for knockout and forehead laceration
Yuri Alcantara: Suspended 30 days for laceration
Mike Pyle: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for knockout
Michael Johnson: Suspended indefinitely or until cleared by opthamologist
Joe Lauzon: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons
Brad Pickett: Suspended 60 days (45 days no contact) for facial contusions
Max Holloway: Suspended 30 days pending clearance by orthodpedist
Mike Brown: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for knockout
Diego Brandao: Suspended 180 days or until cleared by orthodpedist
Daniel Pineda: Suspended 180 days (45 days no contact) or until cleared by orthodpedist
Cody Donovan: Suspended indefinitely or until cleared by orthodpedist
Conor McGregor: Suspended 45 days unless cleared by an MRI
Manny Gamburyan: Suspended indefinitely (30 days no contact) pending facial/head CAT scan.

Conspicuously absent were headliners Chael Sonnen and Mauricio Rua.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.
