Rampage Jackson: 'I've never been a big fan of MMA, don't sit around and watch it like little fan boys'

New, comments

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is good at beating up people in mixed martial arts (MMA), but he's not a fan of the sport like the "little fan boys" who ultimately pay his salary.

While former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson has made a good living thanks to mixed martial arts (MMA) for the last 14 years; however, "Rampage" isn't a big fan of watching the sport.

On the contrary, wrestling is his entertainment of choice, saying he was -- and still is -- a huge fan. And while he doesn't knock "fan boys" for sitting around watching MMA all day long, it's just not his style.

His explains to Rick J. Lee:

"I'm a big kid at the end of the day. If you guys go back and watch my interviews from the past, I'm not really a big MMA fan, I've never been a big MMA fan. I used to be a big pro wrestling fan when I was a kid, but, I've never been a big MMA fan. I'm the type of person that I like to do it then watch it. I enjoy training MMA when my body isn't all beat up and I enjoy fighting. But, I don't sit around and watch it like the little fan boys. I'm not hating on them, no fan no sport, but that's just not me. I just want to go and put on a good show for everybody and I enjoy doing it and I enjoy fighting and I enjoy making people scream, laugh and yell. That's me, that's who I am."

Jackson now gets to dabble in his true passion, professional wrestling, moonlighting as a TNA superstar thanks to his hybrid deal with Bellator MMA and TNA Impact.

It's the future!

"Rampage" joins UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre as one of the few fighters who admit to not watching much of the sport in their free time.

Surprised, "fan boys" Maniacs?
