Perhaps they'll have better luck on Fox Sports 1.

Last Saturday night (Aug. 3, 2013) marked the final time UFC preliminary card fights would air live on FX when the two hour, four-bout UFC 163 undercard was aired from 8-10 p.m ET.

The promotion for the event was marginal at best, primarily due to the intense focus UFC and Fox have been putting into the upcoming launch of Fox Sports 1 later this month (Aug. 17) with UFC Fight Night 26: Sonnan vs. Rua.

So it wasn't exactly a surprise when the ratings dipped to 1,000,000 viewers (via MMA Weekly), down from the 1.363,000 who tuned in for the UFC 162 preliminary card last month.

Granted, it wasn't the lowest ratings of the year. That honor goes to the dreadful UFC 161 event in Winnipeg, which managed to scrape by 968,000 views.

Unfortunately for those who failed to tune in, they missed most of the events excitement as "Fight of the Night," "Submission of the Night" and "Knockout of the Night" all occurred in three of the four bouts on the FX prelims. Anthony Perosh had a 14 second knockout of Vinny Magalhaes, Sergio Moraes landed a beautiful mounted triangle against Neil Magny and Ian McCall had a fantastic scrap against Iliarde Santos.

Hell, even the non-bonus-winning fight was exciting as Amanda Nunes scored a TKO over Sheila Gaff in her UFC debut.

Do you expect the ratings to bounce back with the debut of Fox Sports 1?
