Lyoto Machida lost a unanimous decision to Phil Davis in the co-main event of last night's (Sat., Aug. 3, 2013) UFC 163: "Aldo vs. Korean Zombie" pay-per-view (PPV) event at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on scores of 29-28 from all three judges.
The result has been called into dispute, thanks to such tools as the Fight Metric report.
"The Dragon" himself is quite upset about the decision and, in an interview with MMAFighting.com, revealed his hope that the UFC will set up an immediate rematch.
"I'm still shocked but I don't agree with this result. That's all I can say. I'm very unhappy with MMA rules or UFC referee because I think they don't prepare enough for the fight. If UFC can, I would like to rematch Phil Davis because I want to prove that I can beat him. For sure (that's what I want next)."
Is that something you Maniacs would be interested in? Or should the powers that be move in a new direction for each guy?
