UFC 163 results: Jose Aldo finishes Chan Sung Jung in four

Jose Aldo, assisted by a seemingly separated shoulder, finished Chan Sung Jung via punches in the fourth round of their featherweight championship fight at tonight's (Aug. 3, 2013) UFC 163 event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The main event of the UFC 163: "Aldo vs. Korean Zombie" pay-per-view (PPV) tonight (Sat., Aug. 3, 2013) at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, featured one of the pound-for-pound greatest fighters in mixed martial arts (MMA) today, Jose Aldo, defending his featherweight championship in the main event against Chan Sung Jung, a man few believed going in would have what it takes to dethrone the 145-pound king.

And he didn't.

He hung in there, though, as tough as he possibly could for as long as he possibly could. That turned out to be the fourth round, when Aldo attacked with a series of head kicks and punches that dazed "The Korean Zombie" but didn't seem to be enough to completely finish it.

Then, Sung Jung acted weird after an exchange and "Scarface" decided to strike, overwhelming his foe with the devastating offense he's become so famous for. This after he was reserved for much of the contest.

It became clear upon watching the replay that Sung Jung had suffered a shoulder injury after missing on a punch and having his body contort in an odd way. He attempted to pop it back into place but it's not like he had time to do so, what with the absolute killer he was dealing with standing right across from him.

So Aldo is still your UFC featherweight champion, and we were likely heading for that result even without the shoulder injury, but there's no denying that the Brazilian got some help on his way to victory.
