Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back on pay-per-view, bringing fights from the "Beer City" with UFC 164: "Henderson vs Pettis 2," live from BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Headlining the card is a rematch from a 2010 classic between Ben Henderson and Anthony Pettis from WEC 53. It was the final card held by World Extreme Cagefighting and the main event featured Henderson looking to defend his Lightweight title against Pettis. After a back-and-forth match, Pettis landed a stunning kick to the face after jumping off the fence, securing the win and the final WEC belt.
Will we see a repeat or revenge?
The co-main event features two former UFC Heavyweight champions in Frank Mir and Josh Barnett. These two grapplers have never met in the cage before and both hope that a win will bring them one step closer to another shot at Heavyweight gold.
Before all that pay-per-view (PPV) mixed martial arts (MMA) action began, the night kicked off with several "Prelims" under card bouts that streamed on Facebook.com (watch it here) and then aired on FOX Sports 1. Check out the live UFC 164 "Prelims" Twitter.com reactions right here.

Those two will take the bonus money and provide entertaining fights for a long time. Poirier is one of MMA's most calculably thrilling guys.

Diamond was worried there lol
— Brad Tavares (@BradTavares) September 1, 2013
Arena is deadly silent
— Kevin Iole (@KevinI) September 1, 2013
Koch tried to finish it in the final round with a RNC but came up short. Poirier should prevail 29-28.

Bummer

Was that like calling your shot in baseball? Rothwell mocks Vera's movement, then finishes him seconds later with strikes. #UFC164
— Mike Chiappetta MMA (@MikeChiappetta) September 1, 2013
This is the prob with allowing a bigger man to back u up. Vera allowed Rothwell to get back into the fight & made the cage smaller. #ufc164
— Kenny Florian (@kennyflorian) September 1, 2013
Ben Rothwell used all of his energy bar in the end of that fight AND landed his special move. Impressive.
— MiddleEasy (@MiddleEasy) September 1, 2013
Ben's TRT just kicked in...
— Layzie The Savage (@LayzieTheSavage) September 1, 2013
Ok, now that was something!
— Jonathan Snowden (@mmaencyclopedia) September 1, 2013
Wow great fight impressive stuff both guys!!! Congrats to both guys @chadmendes @clayguida!
— Leonard Garcia (@badboygarcia) September 1, 2013
That right hook, holy shit. It sounded like a cannon shot a wall made of meat. Most consummate, outstanding performance of Mendes' career.
— Jordan Breen (@jordanbreen) September 1, 2013
Damn, that looks like it hurts. #MoneyMendes
— Erik Fontanez (@Erik_Fontanez) September 1, 2013
For a "clear favorite" Mendes doesn't seem interested in finishing this fight.
— Kelly Crigger (@kellycrigger) September 1, 2013
Never mind.
— Kelly Crigger (@kellycrigger) September 1, 2013
Not the world's best stoppage, but Mir's history of lazily letting proactive fighters muscle him around undercuts him yet again.
— Luke Thomas (@SBNLukeThomas) September 1, 2013
People are acting like Frank Mir would have somehow escaped that fist tsunami Barnett launched at him. Great stoppage.
— MiddleEasy (@MiddleEasy) September 1, 2013
Wtf is up with these stoppages tonight?! Barnett liked great but geezus let fighters fight
— Chris Leben (@cripplerufc) September 1, 2013
Barnett wants your skulllllllls. He needs your skulllllls.
— Matthew Roth (@MattRoth512) September 1, 2013
I'm glad @JoshLBarnett is back in the UFC.
— Brad Tavares (@BradTavares) September 1, 2013
Ben Henderson vs Anthony Pettis
Pettis on whether it was a verbal submission: "I felt his arm pop and he said, 'Tap! Tap! Tap!' So it was a little bit of both."
— Shaun Al-Shatti (@shaunalshatti) September 1, 2013
Wow @Showtimepettis with arm bar win and not a flying kick win! Awesome! Great job!
— Cung Le (@CungLe185) September 1, 2013
Congrats to @Showtimepettis way to steal history from henderson http://t.co/y5yNktWnQf
— Roy Nelson (@roynelsonmma) September 1, 2013
Also, remember when all these dorks were talking about the guard being dead in MMA? UFC 155 title was just won with an armbar from guard.
— Jordan Breen (@jordanbreen) September 1, 2013
Talk about a storybook ending for Pettis. Had to wait 2 years to finally get this shot. In his hometown. @ShowtimePettis finishes in R1 #UFC
— Damon Martin (@DamonMartin) September 1, 2013
It's even more impressive that #Pettis submitted #Henderson instead winning by KO in my opinion. #UFC164 #AndNew
