UFC Fight Night 27 results: Carlos Condit finishes Martin Kampmann via TKO

New, 69 comments

Carlos Condit used his trademark blitzing offense to finish Martin Kampmann via TKO in the fourth round of their main event bout at tonight's (Aug. 28, 2013) UFC Fight Night 27 event in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The first time Carlos Condit met Martin Kampmann inside the Octagon, he was fresh off a killer run in WEC and looking to make a name for himself on a much bigger stage. He lost a close fight, and never forgot about it. Now, over three years later, he got the chance to avenge that defeat in a rematch at tonight's (Wed., Aug. 28, 2013) UFC Fight Night 27 event in Indianapolis, Indiana.

And that's exactly what he did.

Kampmann had a strong gameplan going into the bout, working a strategy something like you would see from Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre. He used a strong grappling game and relentless pressure to keep Condit off his game.

But that didn't last long.

Indeed, as "The Hitman" slowed down, "The Natural Born Killer" seemed to speed up, getting better and better as the fight wore on. By the third round, he was stuffing all of Kampmann's takedowns and had bloodied the Dane considerably.

The fourth saw him finish the job.

The standing exchanges were getting more and more lopsided in favor of Condit and at one point, a body shot did enough damage that his trademark blitzing onslaught of violence was what took care of business once and for all. No controversial decision to be had here, folks.

Revenge is sweet.
