A Middleweight match up between Tom Watson and Alessio Sakara is official for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 30 event, which is scheduled to air live on FOX Sports 2 from Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, England, on Oct. 26, 2013.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently confirmed the 185-pound scrap.
Watson (16-6) made his Octagon debut last year, losing a split decision to Brad Tavares at UFC on FUEL TV 5. Following the closely contested bout, he came back quite nicely with a "Fight of the Night" and "Knockout of the Night" performance against Stanislav Nedkov, but is coming off a second decision loss to Thales Leites at UFC 163.
Sakara (19-10), meanwhile, will look to stop a three-fight losing streak. The bout with Watson will mark his fifteenth appearance for the world's leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion, and this time around Sakara could potentially be fighting to maintain his extensive tenure.
UFC Fight Night 30 will be the second international event for the organization in the United Kingdom, featuring five other bouts at the moment that include Melvin Guillard vs. Ross Pearson and Ryan Jimmo vs. Jimi Manuwa, as well as the Middleweight main event of the evening between Michael Bisping vs. Mark Munoz.
