World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is will deliver its annual "SummerSlam" pay-per-view (PPV) TONIGHT (Sun., Aug. 18, 2013) at Staples Center, Los Angeles, California.
SummerSlam 2013 will be headlined by a championship title fight that pits John Cena against Daniel Bryan, a one-time World Heavyweight Champion who is regarded as a "submission specialist" with his YES! Lock signature fight finisher.
The main event will be officiated by special guest referee, Triple H.
Elsewhere on the card, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will collide with CM Punk, who will attempt to avenge a vicious assault that left him with whiplash, as well as strained knee and ankle ligaments.
World Heavyweight Champion Alberto del Rio will also be in action, putting his strap on the line against Christian after he earned No. 1 contender status with a victory over Rob Van Dam and Randy Orton in a Triple Threat Match earlier this month.
That's not all.
MMAmania.com will provide LIVE matches coverage of SummerSlam 2013 this evening, which is slated to begin promptly at 8 p.m. ET on PPV. The latest quick updates of the live action will begin to flow earlier than that, however, around 7 p.m. ET with a free online pre-show that will culminate with Dean Ambrose defending his U.S. title against Rob Van Dam.

SUMMERSLAM 2013 QUICK MATCH RECAPS:
Matt Roth here!
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan (Get Full Play-By-Play Match Results Here)
What a weird match. There were some parts that had legitimate great story telling, and others just fell flat. Some blown spots and a really scary moment when Cena totally screwed up and spiked Bryan's head into the mat. Overall, it was solid. They just couldn't live up to the ridiculously high standard set by the Punk/Lesnar match. Bryan wins by pinfall to capture the belt. Randy Orton comes down and cashes in his Money in the Bank contract. Pedigree from HHH and Orton is your new champ.
C.M. Punk vs. Brock Lesnar (Get Full Play-By-Play Match Results Here)
A 5-Star match in my eyes. This was by far one of the best CM Punk matches in his career. Right up there with his classics with Samoa Joe and John Cena. Lesnar and Punk had incredible chemistry and worked a very physical match. Near falls, some grappling exchanges, and power moves, it had everything you could want in a professional wrestling match. It was so good that it's already being considered a classic. Lesnar won with the F5 on a chair.
World Heavyweight Champion Alberto del Rio vs. Christian (Get Full Play-By-Play Match Results Here)
What a great match. The WWE has tried to push Alberto del Rio for years because of the latino market. Tonight, it looks like he finally turned that corner. Christian and del Rio worked a great match and were able to tell a great story. There were a lot of near falls before del Rio finally cinched in the cross arm breaker for the submission. Del Rio's face was a mess as well, with a bloodied nose and two black eyes. He worked for that one.
Kane vs. Bray Wyatt (Get Full Play-By-Play Match Results Here)
Bray Wyatt and Kane opened up the pay-per-view with a Ring of Fire match. It was exactly as it sounds. The ring was surrounded by fire and the rules stated that it could only be ended by either pinfall or submission. They had decent chemistry and it was a alright concept, but it just didn't live up to the expectations. The Wyatt Family found a way to enter the ring and beatdown Kane before Wyatt hit the Sister Abigail for the pin.
Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn vs. Big E Langston and A.J. Lee (Get Full Play-By-Play Match Results Here)
This was the cool down match but the crowd was still hot. It ended when Ziggler hit his finisher for the 1-2-3.
Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow (Get Full Play-By-Play Match Results Here)
Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow used to be tag team partners. That is until Sandow stopped his friend from winning the Money in the Bank briefcase. The was very entertaining, albeit short. They have very good chemistry in the ring and there weren't any pauses or blown spots. The ending came when Rhodes hit the CrossRoads for the three count.
Natalya vs. Brie Bella (Get Full Play-By-Play Match Results Here)
This was the cool down match. It wasn't good. The crowd was having fun though, chanting for JBL, Jerry Lawler, and Michael Cole. The ending came when Natalya locked in the sharpshooter for the tap.
Dean Ambrose vs. Rob Van Dam (Get Full Play-By-Play Match Results Here)
Dean Ambrose and Rob Van Dam kicked off Summer Slam on the Youtube opening show. The match was for Ambrose's United States championship. There were several near falls before Van Dam hit his 5-Star Frog Splash. With the belt in his grasp, Ambrose's compatriots in the Shield came down to save their leader. All would have been lost until Mark Henry and the Big Show made their way down the ramp. The action continued and Van Dam again hit the 5-Star Frog Splash off the top rope. Ambrose was saved by outside interference when Roman Reigns speared Van Dam causing the disqualification.
