Ultimate Fighting Championship will hold a public press conference today (Aug. 1, 2013) in Rio De Janiero, Brazil, in advance UFC 163: "Aldo vs. Korean Zombie," which is scheduled to take place this Saturday night (Aug. 3) at the same location.

The press conference will begin at 11 a.m. ET. Scheduled to attend will be the headlining fighters of the evening, Jose Aldo, Chan Sung Jung, Lyoto Machida, Phil Davis, John Lineker, Jose Maria Tome, Cezar Ferreira and Thiago Santos.

Aldo is the current UFC featherweight champion, having earned the title by defending the WEC title multiple times before the promotion was folded into the UFC. The talented Brazilian has yet to taste defeat under the Zuffa banner, defending his title a total of six times, with four straight coming inside the Octagon.

Jung is one of the UFC's most popular featherweight fighters, having participated in a Submission of the Year, Fight of the Year and scoring a seven second knockout in his three UFC appearances. "The Korean Zombie" has been sidelined for over a year following his thrilling victory over Dustin Poirier last May and the title fight fell into his lap when Anthony Pettis was briefly injured.

Davis and Machida are two of the most talented light heavyweight on the roster.

Machida is a former champion, having knocked out the likes of Rashad Evans, Ryan Bader, Thiago Silva and Randy Couture during his stint with the promotion. He's been knocking on the door for a title shot for six months and is hoping a victory next weekend will finally get the job done.

Davis has relied on his ground game, utilizing his national champion wrestling ability paired with ever-improving submission skills. "Mr. Wonderful" is looking for that signature win to stamp his status as a title contender and a victory over Machida would be just that.

Brian Hemminger here. The conference call will begin at 11 a.m. ET.

11:13 a.m. - I guess we're starting on Brazilian time.

11:18 a.m. - We're getting warmer

11:23 a.m. - At this rate, the UFC World Tour presser will start first at 12:30 p.m.

11:30 a.m. - We are officially 30 minutes late on this presser. I think they're going for the record

11:36 a.m. - Holy crap we're getting started

John Lineker: I intend to do a very good fight on Saturday to get very close to the title. This is what I want.

Jose Maria Tome: I believe everyone thinks he's a favorite but in my career, this is always what's happened. I went in there and I changed it. That's why I have my nickname which is "No Chance."

Great, now the English translator went out. Good lord.

11:41 a.m. - Now Cezar Mutante and Thiago Santos are out. Guess they're bringing out the small players first to guarantee they get questions.

11:43 a.m. - And now the feed goes out again. What a mess. They were better off making us wait if this was going to be the result.

11:45 a.m. - We're back

Cezar Mutante: This will be a new Mutante.

Thiago Santos: I did nothing specific for this one. I've trained capoueira for many many years. We're gonna be fighting MMA. It could be muay thai, a submission by jiu-jitsu. I'm ready for anything.

11:47 a.m. - Now Phil Davis and Lyoto Machida are bring paraded out

Lyoto Machida: I've watched all the UFCs that were held here in Brazil. I really liked the event, the production, the crowd, the positive energy. I wasn't given the opportunity to go for the title but this Saturday I would like to ratify that I am ready to go for the title.

Phil Davis: Lyoto's hips are incredible. I have to execute my gameplan. Once he gets his hips moving, he's unbelievable. I have to stop him before he gets his hips moving.

Lyoto Machida: I'm really very happy to be in Brazil.

Phil Davis: My game is a lot different from Dan Henderson and also from Jon Jones. They're both wrestlers but we all use our wrestling in different ways. My wrestling is just one part of my overall game that supplements my fighting.

Phil Davis: Everything is relative.

11:58 a.m. - Jose Aldo and Chan Sung Jung are being brought out finally, only took one hour from when this press conference was supposed to start.

Chan Sung Jung: I was actually woken up by news of the fight. I was sleeping when I first found out. To come here to Rio is a long task, it's a tough trip but it keeps my competitive fires going.

Jose Aldo: Here is 100 percent Brazilians. I feel very at ease to be here. Having to lose weight and make weight, I've had this difficulty. I'm a professional and I have to make weight. I'm feeling well this time. I'm very strong and I will make weight on Friday with no trouble whatsoever.

Jose Aldo: That time I won and I ran out to the crowd, but now the security is all ready to hold me if I try to run. I have something ready to jump around the security guards. We'll see what happens if I win the fight.

Chan Sung Jung: It was one of the hardest training camps in my career.

Jose Aldo: They put many fighters ahead of us and it doesn't matter who's in front of me, I'll always be prepared to go over them.

Jose Aldo: I have no problem carrying the weight of the title alone. I hope to get another and carry two of them!

Jose Aldo: Injuries are part of our work. We're not 100 percent free of them. I think he'll be recovered and fight soon. I'm concentrating on my division. I have to concentrate on my fight now.

Jose Aldo: Yes I feel the burden of the belt. It weights 9 kilos, it's great!

That's a wrap folks, thanks for watching the car wreck with me.
