Edit #3: The video stream of this press conference has been updated
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will hold a public press conference today (Aug. 1, 2013) to help promote several upcoming UFC pay-per-views (PPV) later this year.
The press conference will begin at 12:30 p.m. 1:00 p.m. ET and will take place live from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the third and final stop of the special world tour. Scheduled to attend will be multitude of upcoming PPV headliners Georrges St. Pierre and Johny Hendricks
Unlike the prior legs of the tour, Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos, Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson were not in attendance.
St. Pierre is the reigning defending UFC Welterweight Champion, having held the title twice in his career. "Rush" is the biggest active pay-per-view star in UFC today. He returned from a devastating pair of knee injuries to defeat Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz in consecutive performances and now has his sights set on Hendricks.
Hendricks has more than earned his number one contender position. The former national champion collegiate wrestler is on a tremendous roll, having scored four straight victories over top 10 opponents including a pair of brutal knockouts over Martin Kampmann and Jon Fitch as well as a "Fight of the Year" candidate against former title challenger Carlos Condit in his most recent bout. He finally gets his wish this November.
The World Tour concludes today with the final stop in the special media series. Stay tuned to MMAmania for complete coverage of the week's festivities.
