Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) held a formal pre-fight press conference (watch it here) earlier today (July 4, 2013) for this weekend's UFC 162: "Silva vs. Weidman" mixed martial arts (MMA) event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Reigning middleweight titleholder Anderson Silva takes on No. 1 contender Chris Weidman in the main event of the evening, while former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar will attempt to rebound from a three-fight losing streak when he takes on the young and dangerous Charles Oliveira in the co-main event.
Rounding out the main card will be two 185-pound contests of Tim Kennedy vs. Roger Gracie and Tim Boetsch vs. Mark Munoz, as well as a featherweight slugfest of Cub Swanson vs. Dennis Siver.
Eight of the 10 main card fighters were on hand at the presser (see the staredown pics here), and afterwards UFC President Dana White spoke with the media about the latest happenings in the world of MMA.
On top of a can't miss rant about fighter pay in the UFC, White discussed Saturday's event, what's next for "The Spider" if he pulls off yet another victory, potential expansion to Russia and his ongoing discussions with professional boxer Roy Jones Jr.
It's yet another virtual goody bag!
