UFC on FUEL TV 10: "Nogueira vs. Werdum" from the Paulo Sarasate Arena in Fortaleza, Brazil, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $50,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 24 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's heading home with a second sack of simoleons.
Thiago Silva has faced hefty fines for repeatedly failing drug tests in his past couple bouts but he earned himself plenty of extra cheddar to pay those debts, as he earned both "Fight of the Night" and "Knockout of the Night" for his first round come-from-behind stoppage of Rafael Cavalcante on the main card.
He looked a little sluggish early but turned it up when it mattered and scored a big KO.
Erick Silva also took home some cheese for his quick first round armbar submission of Jason High, a performance you know was super impressive because he beat out seven other submissions on the card to earn this check.
Good for him.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC on FUEL TV 10:
Submission of the Night -- Erick Silva
Knockout of the Night -- Thiago Silva
Fight of the Night -- Thiago Silva vs. Rafael Cavalcante
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as that information becomes available.
