Titan Fighting Championship's (TFC) twenty-fifth mixed martial arts (MMA) event is in the book as last night (June 7, 2013) the organization traveled to Fort Riley, Kansas, for Titan FC 25: "Lashley vs. Asplund," at the Marshall Army Field.
The event headliner saw former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley return to MMA competition after a 13-month layoff from the sport to face veteran journeyman Kevin Asplund, who entered the heavyweight contest on a three-fight losing streak and without a victory in nearly two years.
It didn't take long for "The Dominator" to take the fight into his world as he took Asplund to the ground and began working with elbows and punches. After a clear-cut 10-9 in the first round, Lashley completely took over in the second as he once again took Asplund to the mat and forced him to tap out with a key lock.
Lashley stated that he wants to come into his next fight weighing roughly 220 pounds and is eventually working towards competing in the light heavyweight division.
Also on the card, Jake Lindsay stopped Zach Freeman in the first round with strikes and in his post-fight interview called for a fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
