UFC 162 'Behind the Numbers:' Closer look at Anderson Silva's sensational career stat sheet

During his nearly seven-year stint with the UFC, Anderson Silva has racked up quite the list of accomplishments, and just a few days before his next fight against Chris Weidman at UFC 162, MMAmania.com takes a look at exactly what kind of records "The Spider" owns.

Ever since he first stepped into the Octagon against Chris Leben at UFC Fight Night 5 on June 28, 2006, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight titleholder Anderson Silva has been essentially untouchable within the confines of the eight-sided cage.

While he has had a few close calls, "The Spider" has decisively defeated every foe who has stepped in front of him, and more often than not it is in a more incredibly fashion than the last.

Silva's 16-0 run in the UFC over nearly seven years has been unlike anything ever seen in mixed martial arts (MMA), and this Saturday night (July 6, 2013) at UFC 162, the Brazilian sensation will look to add one more tick to the win column of his already unfathomable resume when he takes on the undefeated Chris Weidman.

Silva knows what it takes to win inside the cage, and beyond that, he knows what it takes to win in a spectacular, jaw-dropping fashion. He is capable of pulling off moves in competition that most wouldn't even risk attempting in sparring, and he does it in an effortless fashion.

Every time the legendary champion steps in the cage it is a monumental occasion for the sport, and with one of the most significant bouts of his career just around the corner, what better time than now to take a closer look at all the achievements Silva has under his belt thus far.
