"I know exactly what Georges is. He's a jab guy and a takedown guy, he's going to lay on top of you as long as he can, he's going to try and control the clock, he's going to try and get you as tired as he can as quickly as possible. That's Georges. Me, on the other hand, you don't know. Am I going to knock you out? Am I going to take you down? Am I going to let you back to your feet? I know I can take Georges down and I know I can keep him off my legs."
-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight No. 1 contender breaks down the fighting style of his upcoming opponent, longtime 170-pound kingpin Georges St. Pierre, in a recent interview on AXS TV's "Inside MMA." Hendricks meets "Rush" in the main event of UFC 167 on Nov. 16, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and for "Bigg Rigg," it's no surprise what St. Pierre is going to try to do once the cage door closes. Hendricks feels St. Pierre is going to try and implement a similar strategy as his past fights where the French-Canadian cautiously mixed up strikes from a distance with takedowns and maintaining dominant position on the ground. Hendricks doesn't see that happening in his fight with St. Pierre, though, and feels he is much more dangerous than the champion in the sense that his fighting style is far more unpredictable. The 29-year-old is highly confident just under five months away from the biggest fight of his life, and truly believes he is the one to knock St. Pierre out and off his throne.
