Resurrection Fighting Alliance's (RFA) eighth mixed martial arts (MMA) event is in the books as last night (June 21, 2013) the organization traveled to Milwaukee, Wis., for RFA 8: "Pettis vs. Pegg" at The Rave/Eagles Club.
The event headliner saw Sergio Pettis, a top flyweight prospect and brother of top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) contender Anthony Pettis, make quick work of late replacement Dillard Pegg with the help of a perfect 1-2 combination that knocked Pegg out less than one minute into the first round.
Pettis won the vacant RFA flyweight title and with an 8-0 record could be UFC bound sooner than later.
The co-feature of the night featured another top prospect getting his hand raised, as Lance Palmer narrowly defeated Jared Downing by way of controversial split decision after five rounds to win the inaugural RFA featherweight championship.
