The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): Brazil 1 middleweight runner-up Sergio Moraes will look to make it two-straight since coming up short against Cezar Ferreira in the finals of the reality show as he will meet Neil Magny this summer at UFC 163 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Aug. 3, 2013.
Both fighters are coming off victories in there last fights, with Moraes competing at his natural weight class of welterweight after participating on TUF as a undersized 170-pound fighter.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) officials confirmed the 170-pound contest via Twitter on Friday (May 31, 2013) evening.
Moraes (7-2) is a grappling-based fighter with striking skills that evolve with each passing fight. The 30-year-old has yet to finish an opponent with striking in his career, but he has finished all but one of his opponents by submission.
Magny (8-1) made a successful UFC debut last February when he outpointed Jon Manley en route to a unanimous decision win at UFC 157. At 6'2", the 25-year-old is one of the tallest fighters in the welterweight division which should work as a significant advantage against the shorter Moraes.
It is unknown at this time if Moraes vs. Magny will take place on the preliminary, which will be broadcasted on Facebook and FX or the pay-per-view (PPV) main card.
UFC 163 goes down from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Aug. 3, 2013. The main event of the evening will see featherweight champion Jose Aldo put his title on the line for the fifth time against Anthony Pettis, who moves down from the lightweight division to challenge "Scarface"
