Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva (33-4) will defend his 185-pound title against Chris Weidman (9-0) at the promotion's annual Fourth of July weekend extravaganza on July 6, 2013 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hopefully, the "All American" has been working on his stand up.
That's one of the weaknesses "The Spider" hopes to exploit when they hook 'em up in "Sin City" this summer. But to be fair, Silva also recognizes that he has some work to do in the wrestling department. As he says in the above video, it's all about capitalizing on mistakes.
Who will commit the first on July 6?
A lot of mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters are picking Wiedman in the upset (see the odds and betting lines here), but as manager Ed Soares says, once you have Anderson Silva standing across from you inside the Octagon, it's not the same game anymore.
Just ask the other 16 guys in UFC who have tried to defeat him.
