WSOF 3 injuries and medical suspensions: Josh Burkman and Jon Fitch benched for 'Sin City' boo boos

The medical suspensions are in from the NSAC and it looks like the gang at WSOF 3 will escape relatively unharmed. There are, however, a few cases dependent on the doctor's green light.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) today made available the list of fighter injuries and medical suspensions for those athletes who competed at the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 3: "Fitch vs. Burkman" event last Friday night (June 14, 2013) at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Main event headliners Josh Burkman and Jon Fitch will both take some time off, despite the fact their bout lasted less than a minute. "The People's Warrior" needs to have one of digits checked out after submitting his opponent while Fitch has a cut above his right eyebrow.

They'll be back lickety-split.

Lyle Beerbohm and Kendrick Miree, however, may not be so fortunate. "Fancy Pants" will need to convince the doctor his right foot is in proper working order while Miree has to convince his physician there isn't a "Big Problem" with his left kicker.

That's not all.

Here are the complete WSOF 3 injuries and corresponding medical suspensions:

Josh Burkman: Suspended 90 days (90 days no contact) pending doctor's clearance (right hand).
Jon Fitch: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for right eyebrow laceration.
Tyson Steele: Suspended 21 days (14 days no contact) for precautionary reasons.
Lyle Beerbohm: Suspended 180 days (180 days no contact) unless cleared by a doctor for possible right foot injury.
Brian Cobb: Suspended 30 days (14 days no contact). Additional suspension 180 days unless left knee cleared by orthopedic doctor.
Jeff Smith: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact). Additional suspension 180 days unless cleared by doctor for right ribs and possible nasal injury.
Joe Murphy: Suspended 30 days (14 days no contact) for right knee pain.
Kendrick Miree: Suspended 180 days (180 days no contact) unless cleared by a doctor for possible left foot injury.
Josh Montalvo: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for left laceration.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.
