Uriah Hall vs. Nick Ring booked for UFC on FOX Sports 1 on Aug. 17 in Boston

Chael Sonnen once said Uriah Hall was good enough to beat Anderson Silva. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to win his first UFC fight. Can Hall erase that memory and fulfill his potential in "Beantown?"

USA TODAY Sports

The Uriah Hall experiment, take two.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is giving The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 breakout star a second chance to live up to the hype following last season's combat sports reality show, pairing him off with fellow middleweight and TUF veteran Nick Ring.

They'll do the deed at UFC on FOX Sports 1, scheduled for Aug. 17, 2013 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Hall (7-3) went 4-0 on TUF 17 and became the talk of the town following his devastating knockouts over Adam Cella and Bubba McDaniel. Unfortunately, he was unable to cross the finish line, getting outworked by Kelvin Gastelum in last month's season finale.

I'm sure that will be water under the bridge if he's able to break his "Promise."

Ring (13-2) had an impressive run on TUF 11 back in 2010, but ultimately withdrew from the competition after blowing up his knee. He debuted with UFC the following year and has since compiled a 3-2 record, having dropped his most recent bout against Chris Camozzi in Montreal.

Who ya' got?

While no main event is set for UFC on FOX Sports 1 at this time, a monster heavyweight clash between Alistair Overeem vs. Travis Browne was recently made official. Thiago Alves vs. Matt Brown and Michael Johnson vs. Joe Lauzon have also been slated to hook 'em up.
