After wrapping up a stellar boxing career, one that included a 33-2-3 record, Holly Holm has officially retired from the "sweet science" to pursue mixed martial arts (MMA) full time, signing a four-fight contract with Legacy Fighting Championship.
From Holm's promoter, Lenny Fresquez:
"After speaking with all MMA companies, we have selected Legacy because of its commitment to help prepare Holly for a Super Fight, as well as getting her the right television exposure."
Fresquez says his goal is an eventual showdown against reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey.
Holm, who called it quits earlier this month following a 10-round unanimous decision win over Mary McGee, is expected to make her Legacy debut against an opponent to be named on July 19, 2013, live from the Houston Arena Theater in Houston, Texas.
"The Preacher's Daughter" trains at Team Jackson-Winkeljohn alongside top UFC stars Jon Jones and Frank Mir, among others.
