"Let me be clear, I am not looking for a rematch with anyone. What I want is the belt. It doesn't matter who has it. I feel that I am starting my career right now. I feel young enough to keep fighting for a bunch more fights. I have been fighting and winning all the fights in my division. I think I deserve a title shot."
Outside of his loss to Anderson Silva, longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran Vitor Belfort (via Bleacher Report) doesn't have a loss in the middleweight division since making his Octagon return back in 2009, a catchweight knockout over former 185-pound kingpin Rich Franklin. So what's keeping him from a second crack at the division crown? For now, it's the more manly Luke Rockhold, who held the middleweight strap under the Strikeforce banner. They'll do battle in the main event of UFC on FX 8, which goes down on May 18, 2013 from Arena Jaragua in Santa Catarina, Brazil. With the current state of the 185-pound division, it's hard not to imagine a big win for either fighter earning them a shot at the winner of Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman, who fight for all the marbles at UFC 162 over the Fourth of July Weekend in Las Vegas. Unless, of course, you can think of one reason why "The Phenom," who recently came clean over his TRT use, doesn't deserve a title shot, even with a win over Rocky. Anyone?
