UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" from Arena Jaragua in Santa Catarina, Brazil, is officially in the books after a thrilling evening (May 18, 2013) of mixed martial arts (MMA) action.
The main event of the evening, Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold, was a pivotal 185-pound bout that pitted the legendary Belfort against the middleweight champion in Strikeforce history, Luke Rockhold. The fight was an absolute blowout, as Belfort landed one of the most devastating head kick knockouts in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) history for the win (watch highlights here).
In other main card action, grappling sensation Ronaldo Souza picked up an easy submission win over Chris Camozzi in his UFC debut while Rafael dos Anjos was awarded a controversial unanimous decision win over Evan Dunham.
In the main card opener on FX, Rafael Natal and Joao Zeferino underwhelmed the crowd after three underwhelming rounds of action.
Anyway, as usual, all the stars of the show came to dish the dirt on the event immediately afterward at the post-fight press conference, including Belfort, Rockhold and Souza, among others. Unfortunately, though, UFC President Dana White didn't travel to Brazil for the show, which means Marshall Zelaznik led the presser.
