UFC Quick Quote: Nik Lentz wasn't going to get submitted by Hacran Dias at UFC on FX 8

Nik Lentz tells Heidi Androl on FUEL TV's UFC on FX 8 post-fight show that he wasn't going to tap out to a Hacran Dias arm-triangle choke in the third round of their spirited featherweight battle on Saturday night (May 18, 2013) in Brazil.

Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

"I'm never going to get tapped out by an arm-triangle, my jiu-jitsu coaches are way too good at ATT. I was safe the whole time but the guy had it incredibly tight, so it was very hard to move, I took my time to get out and I give him credit -- no one has ever hit me with an arm-triangle like that."

-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight Nik Lentz discusses the third-round arm-triangle choke by Hacran Dias at UFC on FX 8 that looked as if it could be the end of Lentz's night. "The Carny" tells Heidi Androl on the UFC on FX 8 post-fight show on FUEL TV that he was absolutely not going to tap out from Dias' submission attempt even though the choke was extremely tight and he was unable to move. Lentz handily won the first two rounds of the preliminary card contest, but in the third and final frame Dias fought like a man possessed and nearly put Lentz away on multiple occasions, especially with the choke. According to the 28-year-old, though, he wasn't about to give up in a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight for the first time since 2006 and let Dias earn a come-from-behind victory.

With the win over Dias, Lentz improved his UFC record to 3-0 since dropping to the 145-pound weight class.
