Chris Camozzi was never supposed to be in the co-main event of the evening at UFC on FX 8: "Belfort vs. Rockhold" tonight (Sat., May 18, 2013) at Arena Jagaura in Jagaura do Sul, Brazil, but an injury opened the door for him to step up to fight Ronaldo Souza in his Octagon debut.
So that's what he did.
That doesn't mean he was up to the actual task at hand. In fact, he looked totally out of his league for the duration of the bout, which only went a few minutes and featured "Jacare" using his powerful striking to scare Camozzi before taking him to the mat and working his unbelievable jiu-jitsu skills.
It's no surprise, then, that he tapped his American opponent with an arm triangle in under one round.
It was an impressive display of dominance from one of the top 185-pound fighters in the world right now. And now that he's in the UFC, we're really going to get an answer to all those questions.
