China's Premier MMA Promotion Returns With RUFF 9 Set for Saturday Night (May 18) in Hohhot

RUFF returns tomorrow for its second card of 2013 which is set for the SanYa-HaiNan MGM Grand Sanya at Yalong Bay in Hohhot. RUFF 9 features 11 fights and is headlined by a match up between two flyweights looking to get back into the contender mix, well-rounded Shang Zhifa (3-2) and China Top Team grappler Amu RiJiRiGaLa (5-2).

The first co-main event will be will be a featherweight battle with RUFF newcomer and Chinese MMA veteran Ning Guang You (2-2-1) facing off against hard-hitting Jiang Zhou Wen (2-4-1), who is coming off a submission win at RUFF 7. Sharing the co-main event slot will be two debutants as Muay Thai specialist and Hong Kong based Sylvain Nouwen will be going toe to toe with Sanda specialist Jiri Gala in the light heavyweight division.

Rounding out the main card will be RUFF’s first welterweight fight, which will showcase one of China’s top Sanda fighters Wang An Ying, who fights out of the X'ian Sports Institute, and Taiwanese jiu-jitsu specialist Huang Yuren, also known as Jeff Huang.

Huang (1-0) is famous for giving up a well paid job for a bank in Taipei in order to travel to Brazil and the U.S. to focus on learning MMA and jiu-jitsu. This will be his first fight since returning to Taiwan and he will be in for a tough test against an opponent who will be making his MMA debut but is a Sanda champion.

Rounding up the main card is an exciting match up between two hard-hitting Chinese bantamweight in Ayideng Jumayi (3-2), who also fights out of X'ian and will have Canadian middleweight Vaughn Anderson in his corner, and Li Shuai Hu (1-0).

The pick of the undercard fights sees former Flyweight title challenger Liu Pingyuan (4-5) in a rematch with China Top Team fighter Liu Lianjie (2-2). The two first met at RUFF 3 with Pingyuan winning with an armbar late in the opening round.
