Look who's back in the heavyweight division.
Longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran Brandon Vera will pack on a few pounds to challenge Ben Rothwell at the upcoming UFC 164 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Aug. 31, 2013.
"The Truth" was revealed via Twitter:
Interesting match up.
Vera (12-6) abandoned the 265-pound division after back-to-back losses to Tim Sylvia and Fabricio Werdum. Unfortunately, he was unable to make any noise at light heavyweight, either, racking up an even 4-4 record with one "no contest" against Thiago Silva.
Rothwell hasn't fared much better.
Following a "Big" loss in his Octagon debut to Cain Velasquez, the former IFL star went 2-2, with the highlight of that run being a thunderous knockout of former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10 runner-up Brendan Schaub. He was last seen tapping to Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC on FX 7.
Who ya' got?
