UFC on FX 8 video: Watch jacked 'Jacare' pound the pads for Chris Camozzi fight in Brazil

If Ronaldo Souza can finish off Chris Camozzi at UFC on FX 8 this Saturday night (May 18, 2013) in Brazil, expect him to be rewarded with a top five opponent his next time out. Can anyone in this division stop him from taking over?

He's known as one of the most dangerous grapplers to ever step foot inside the cage, but that hasn't stopped former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Ronaldo Souza from working on his hands.

The same hands that put Derek Brunson to sleep last August.

"I hope to make a great first impression on [Camozzi]. I expect the crowd's noise to overwhelm my opponent. I am very confident in my victory. I see myself going up, step-by-step, to the top of the division. I wasn't born to be in second place, I was born to be a champion."

"Jacare" (17-3) went 7-1 under the Strikeforce banner, racking up wins over Tim Kennedy and Robbie Lawler, among others. The Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) legend is one of the best ground fighters in the sport, a lesson Ed Herman found out the hard way earlier this year in Oklahoma.

Now it's time to see if he can replicate that success in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Souza was originally paired off against fellow contender Constantinos Philippou, but a recent injury to "Costas" booted him from this weekend's UFC on FX 8 event at Arena Jaragua in Santa Catarina, Brazil, and the hometown hero will now battle Chris Camozzi.
