UFC on FUEL TV 9 Results: Matt Mitrione smashes Philip De Fries in just 19 seconds

Matt Mitrione said he was fighting for his job at UFC on FUEL TV 9 in Stockholm, Sweden. Let's see if Philip De Fries was able to send the former NFL'er to the heavyweight unemployment line.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was back in action earlier today (April 6, 2013) with UFC on FUEL TV 9: "Mousasi vs. Latifi," emanating from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

Heavyweight "Meathead," Matt Mitrione, was fighting for his career on Saturday afternoon after back-to-back losses to Cheick Kongo and Roy Nelson. So too, was Britain's Philip De Fries, who was just 1-2 inside the Octagon after getting finished in two defeats.

Make that three.

De Fries went darting in for a takedown right out of the gate but was quickly stuffed. He recovered, reset and tried again, but got dumped to the canvas and bounced his head off the floor. It looked as if it dazed him momentarily and that was the opening "Meathead" was looking for.

He unloaded a barrage of punches from the top and De Fries went to sleep in just 19 seconds. After going 1-3 for UFC, he may wake up without a job.
