After all the talk, all the nonsense, all the potentially worthwhile but also possibly useless promotion, UFC 159: "Jones vs. Sonnen" will invade the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, tonight (Sat., April 27, 2013) featuring a main event of Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones putting his title on the line against the number one contender who never really was, Chael Sonnen.
As usual, the challenger is confident.
"I can take Jon Jones down any time I wanted to. He's never been in there with a gangster before. He's been in there with a bunch of little boys who were scared of him. Do whatever it takes to stay away, son, because you don't want to fight me."
The champion is unimpressed, and returns fire with a few well placed verbal barbs.
"It's not a matter of strength. It's a matter of timing and wisdom, courage. I don't take Chael's words seriously at all. He is a loser. Chael Sonnen is weak to me. He doesn't have a championship soul, heart, nothing."
Later on this evening, the talk will finally cease and the two will get it on inside the Octagon. It can't get here soon enough.
