"Yeah [I'm going to stay at light heavyweight after this fight]. I don't want to cut back down to 185. I will, I will go back to 185 if I needed to, but I don't want to. I never wanted to be at that weight class, always wanted to be at 205 but that's where the contract came in at."
-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen says he doesn't plan on leaving the 205-pound division anytime soon in a recent interview on Opie & Anthony. Sonnen's upcoming light heavyweight title clash with Jon Jones this Saturday (April 27, 2013) at UFC 159 will be his first bout in the weight class since 2005, and the 36-year-old doesn't foresee himself switching weight classes again afterwards -- win or lose. Sonnen formerly competed at middleweight where he earned two title shots at champion Anderson Silva. Despite his success at 185-pounds, Sonnen claims he never wanted to fight in that division and light heavyweight is where he has always had the desire to compete.
