Miesha Tate vs. Liz Carmouche official for UFC on FOX 8 in Seattle (Updated)

Miesha Tate has apparently received medical clearance after her technical knockout loss to Cat Zingano at TUF 17 Finale earlier this month and has recently accepted a fight against Liz Carmouche at the UFC on FOX 8 event this summer in Seattle.

USA TODAY Sports

Former Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate will lock horns with former division number one contender Liz Carmouche at the upcoming UFC on FOX 8 event, which is scheduled to take place at the KeyArena in Seattle, Wash., on July 27, 2013.

FOX Sports confirmed the booking on Thursday.

Tate (13-4) was benched until June 13 -- with no contact until May 29 -- after Cat Zingano put her away in The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada (watch it here). After winning six in a row, Tate is now 1-2 over her last three, also coming up short against Ronda Rousey last year in Columbus, Ohio.

Time to get back on the horse and try again.

"Rowdy" polished off Carmouche at UFC 157 earlier this year in Anaheim, California, snapping a two-fight winning streak for the "Girl-Rilla" compiled under the Invicta FC banner. The leader of the "Lizbos" is known for her savage fighting style and puts on a show, even in defeat.

Who ya' got?

UFC on FOX 8 will feature a pair of compelling 170-pound bouts between Rory MacDonald vs. Jake Ellenberger and Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine. The main event, which is expected to showcase flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson vs. John Moraga, has yet to be announced and/or made official.

Stay tuned.
